Churchill, Winston Spencer (1874-1965) 
 British Prime Minister between 1940-1945, from the Conservative Party 
 He was well known for his parliamentary oratory, and kept on reminding the USA of the basic kinship of Anglo-American ideals. Churchill was ready to help Russia against the Nazis, although he saw her for a long time as a dangerous power. Up to the end of the war Churchill dealt with USA and the Soviet Union with awareness of the declining British power. He died in 1965.
